Day Off

No customer service ridiculousness today. Finally, it's Sunday, my one day off. The next day I look forward to is Wednesday, when I get the morning off. Other then that its customer service mode all day long. Except for when I'm in class. Trying to please people in a restaurant (second job, minus the annoying tag phrase) or an office is hard work man. 85% fake smiles, 15% genuine enjoyment of people. At the end of the day its hard to turn off the bullshit and try to get real with people. You've been fake talking to people all day long, the last thing you really want to do is strike up an actual conversation with someone. Maybe that's just me. My house phone rang this morning and I started to answer with "*****. Yes is..." and stopped myself midway through. My uncle immediately started laughing at me. I wouldn't be surprised if at dinner I make a bread basket and offer my parents the dessert menu.

  1. Sometimes I can tell when someone at a customer service desk is having a bad day even when they try too smile. It is that 85% fakes smile you are talking about.
