First 5k.....After Only Running Three Times.....Excuse me?

Check out that cool little guy, huh?!?! Well, that little man right there, he represents the first 5k me and the boyfriend will be running....wait for it...in 3 days! So, to say the least, I am a little worried about this. I am also excited to be pushing myself to just go for it, but I have only run outside twice so far. The 4th time I will run outside will be in an organized race. Pretty sure I am biting off more then I can chew. Why did I sign up for this you ask? This guy right here....

Pushing Through the Beginning of Change

My picture is sideways due to this blog site not cooperating with me. I should really have the programmer boyfriend just build me my own website so I do not have to worry about these things. Blah!

^ Done :)

Anyways, this is my breakfast from Saturday. I have been sticking with making a good breakfast for the past few days (with the exception of Sunday), which I am pretty proud about. I have not been taking pictures because, honestly, I forget until I am finished eating it.

We were setting out bright and early this day for a backyard games tornament of cornhole, darts, and beruit. I wanted to have something good in my stomach so that I did not over do it with chips and BBQ things throughout the day. Well, after 8 straight hours of standing and throwing I don't think I really needed to worry. Anything I would've ate I surely worked off with the competition. I tried to stay good though. I had exactly two doritos, 3/4 cup of potatoe salad and two cheeseburgers. I know, I know, the burgers were bad. If it makes it any better I had one for lunch at around 1pm and then the other was for dinner at around 7pm. I could've had a hotdog for the dinner portion of this day to mix it up, but they were not ready yet and I was cranky and starving. All and all I was proud of myself. I got in a proper amount of fruit for the day, was active all day long, and made sure not to overdue it on things.

The Trials and Tribulations of learning a healthy lifestyle

The salad creation I made at the salad bar at Whole Foods. What I put in included: Romaine Lettuce, Roasted sweet potatoes, chicken, three slices of bell peppers (I have never had peppers before so I was being cautious), grape tomatoes, and carrots. I topped it with a fat free creamy italian dressing.

As you can probably imagine with the hodge podge of ingredints and flavors I put in, it was not very good. The carrots were ridiculousy crunchy and the grape tomatoes were a new experience for me and slightly strange. I only ate about half of it. I plan on eating the other half for dinner tonight. I will force myself to like this stuff if it is that last thing I do! Now I know though that these particular things do not go too well together. P.S I didn't hate the peppers, which I was suprised about.

This is my array of healthy food for today. I have a smoothie in the background, my coffee right in front of that, a Chobani fat free vanilla yougurt with vanilla granola, my left over salad, and my favorite sparkling water.

I also tried a sandwich thin toasted with Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Almond Butter and half a banana with cinnamon this morning for breakfast. It was different, but I enjoyed it and would try it again.

Dabbleing in the way of a healthy lifestyle

You have probably seen them a million times before.....the overweight girl trying to lose weight and blogging about it website. Well, here is another one for you!

I would like to be insightful and tell you that it is not just about losing weight, it is about living a healthy life. I can't do that; at least not yet.
