The Trials and Tribulations of learning a healthy lifestyle

The salad creation I made at the salad bar at Whole Foods. What I put in included: Romaine Lettuce, Roasted sweet potatoes, chicken, three slices of bell peppers (I have never had peppers before so I was being cautious), grape tomatoes, and carrots. I topped it with a fat free creamy italian dressing.

As you can probably imagine with the hodge podge of ingredints and flavors I put in, it was not very good. The carrots were ridiculousy crunchy and the grape tomatoes were a new experience for me and slightly strange. I only ate about half of it. I plan on eating the other half for dinner tonight. I will force myself to like this stuff if it is that last thing I do! Now I know though that these particular things do not go too well together. P.S I didn't hate the peppers, which I was suprised about.

This is my array of healthy food for today. I have a smoothie in the background, my coffee right in front of that, a Chobani fat free vanilla yougurt with vanilla granola, my left over salad, and my favorite sparkling water.

I also tried a sandwich thin toasted with Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Almond Butter and half a banana with cinnamon this morning for breakfast. It was different, but I enjoyed it and would try it again.

In my smoothie, that is tar colored by the way, I put a bunch more hodge podge stuff together. I need to learn less is more! Anyways, I put 3/4 cup frozen berry medley (rasberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries), a handful of spinach, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup Almond Breeze milk, 1 Tbsp Justin's Chococlate Hazlenut Almond Butter, 1 packet of diet swiss miss, and 3 equal sweeteners.

I just kept adding things until it was drinkable. I was trying to remember what I had read on the blog. I remembered a bunch of ingredints, I just didn't put them together correctly. Now I know.

On the bright side I am getting a full serving of fruits and vegetables today! Let's see how well I do. I predict being starving by the end of it. Since I am working 16 hours today, and we are having a Diversity Fair at work, I predict I am going to eat something else besides my healthy concoctions.

I decided to try the treadmill out on Wednesday. This was my distance and time. Let's see if I can beat it on my next run. Since I am working 16 hours today, have a date planned with some friends tomorrow all the way out in Bridgewater, and working again on Sunday from 3 to 11, I hope I can get something in at some point.
